(Several fine choirs in this category suffered from auditions of poor recording quality and were not advanced to the finals. Excessive reverb, distortion at louder dynamics, tape hiss and other reproduction issues made evaluation difficult. Choruses not advanced are encouraged to apply in another contest year with auditions of better technical quality.)
